Star Trek TOS (TOS stands for The Original Series), is always a
classic.

I think that Star Trek The Next Generation (TNG) was my favorite, in
that it was the first Star Trek that I really followed the plot.

I can't say why, but Star Trek Deep Space 9 (DS9) was one of my least
favorites. The cast was great, but the plot and story line just didn't
impress me.

Star Trek Voyager was always good. Captain Janeway, the Doctor and 7
of 9 really made it an interesting show. Voyager really explored the
whole Borg nemesis that was introduced in The Next Generation.

Star Trek Enterprise, was a bit of a dud.

Then recently I noticed a new Star Trek, something like Star Trek 2009
was listed on Netflix as a future release. I wonder what that is going
to be like.

I hope this helps shed some enlightenment on the whole series.

Start with StarTrek The Next Generation, because it is witty and intelligent. Next, the Original Series - a must for every serious fan. The other series are a matter of taste, you may like some but not others, it's hard to guess unless you try.
